Clean an eiderdown
I need to have a feather eiderdown cleaned. Who can do this?
Unless fragile or covered in fabric other than cotton, it?s preferable to wash feather eiderdowns on a cool wash in a large launderette machine. After washing, the feathers will be in lumps but the tumble-dryer will fluff them out again. Dry the quilt quickly and thoroughly or the feathers will smell. To have an eiderdown cleaned professionally, take it to one of 469 branches of Johnsons, who can wash it or, if the casing is delicate, clean it with a low-odour, eco-solvent. (Never iron an eiderdown).
