• Wash your vases thoroughly each time you use them. Any bacteria left will contaminate the water and affect the longevity of the blooms. Use soap; hot water and elbow grease.
• Lemon juice, vinegar or denture tablets are good for removing stains. Dry vases thoroughly to prevent water marks; use a lint-free cloth.
• Stacking may chip edges. Glass, particularly crystal, is easily scratched, so remove rings before washing.
• Crystal contains a small amount of lead, so should never be washed in very hot water or a dishwasher as it will cloud. To clean stained crystal, use soapy water and add a few grains of uncooked rice. The abrasiveness of the grains should clean off the marks.
