Caring for your stone floor
You've found the right flooring for your home, but how do you look after it?
Why choose stone?
Tiles made of slate, limestone, marble, granite, travertine and sandstone - offer value for money, despite the high price and installation costs. Stone is extremely durable which makes it ideal for heavy traffic areas such as kitchens.
When fitting
You'll find that tiles vary in colour, so shuffle them to get the best look. Don't forget to take into account the risk of breakages when calculating how many you'll need.
Maintenance
Stone flooring will need regular sealing, as stone is porous. Softer tiles, for example chipped-edge slate ones, may also need waxing and polishing.
