Unfortunately, your start date depends on the waiting list at the site you choose. Interest in some sites is so high that lists of up to 10 years aren't unheard of, and some lists have been temporarily closed. The Allotment Officer should be able to tell you where you are on the list.

If you're willing to take on an overgrown plot, share with another gardener or drive to one further afield. Let the council know, as this could help you get to the top of the list quicker.
