It was a huge construction job. "Although smaller houses in the street had new basements, we hadn't seen anything on the same scale," says Samantha. The couple have gained 1,500 square feet of floor space, creating a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen-utility room for their nanny; a TV/cinema room for their three daughters; and a guest room with an ensuite bathroom.
