Make present wrapping easier with a Christmas wrapping station

Wrapping needn't be a chore - create an organised area with everything you need to present gifts perfectly

Choose a desk or table with a large worksurface You'll need space for rolls of wrapping paper, unwrapped gifts, sticky tape, etc. Wide, shallow drawers are useful for storing gift bags and tissue. Assign one to everything you need for the post - padded envelopes, tape and a set of scales. A waste bin is the perfect size for holding rolls of Christmas wrap, and a memo board can be used as a pretty tag holder. Avoid ribbon tangles by slotting rolls onto wall-mounted kitchen or tiolet roll holders.

Find a spot with good natural light for writing cards and wrapping gifts during the day. For evenings, opt for a floor lamp or bright overhead light, which won't take ip space on the worksurface. Your chair should have wheels and be height-adjustable so you can sit comfortably and reach everything you need easily.

Save on postage costs by sending Christmas cards and presents in the same package. Make two lists - one with people who just need cards, and another with those you'll send a card and a present. Work through the latter first so you can send heavier items second class to save on postage. Keep last posting dates on the wall- find them at www.royalmail.com.
