Update an old chair - 4 stylish craft ideas

How to bring a tired wooden chair back to life

Re-cover an old chair in metallic leather

How to do it
Paint the chair. Cut foam to fit the seat back and glue in place. Cover the back and seat in leather (pull the leather tight to ensure a smooth finish) and staple to secure. Edge the chair back and seat pad with upholstery nails. Cut a stiff cardboard template of the chair back, then cover with leather, using textile glue to attach it. Finally, glue this panel onto the chair back to conceal the stapled edge.

What you need
Potters Clay 1 gloss paint from Dulux, metallic leather from Borovick Fabrics. Enamelled upholstery nails from The Upholstery Shop.
