Once you've got your recycling needs covered, you'll still need to think about the best ways to dispose of food waste and non-recyclable waste. Here are a few top options to keep your rubbish in order.
Use a compactor to crush rubbish to a fraction of its original volume. Compactors come in black, white and stainless steel or can be integrated into your kitchen units.
Consider composting - it's simpler than you'd think. Collect fruit, vegetable peelings, teabags and eggshells in a compost caddy or crock on the worktop before transferring them to an outdoor compost bin. Don't add cooked food, dairy, meat or fish as these aren't suitable for a regular compost bin.
Waste disposal units are becoming increasingly popular. Installed under your sink, they mechanically grind up food waste so that it goes down the plughole. It's not as eco-friendly as composting, but better than collecting smelly waste in a bin before sending it to a landfill site!
