How to make Halloween trick-or-treat pots

Make something special for the little trick-or-treaters who knock at your door this Halloween

Step 1: Select round boxes to decorate.

You can either dig out old buckets for your own children to carry around, or create individual pots to hand out. Visit Calico Crafts for small readymade containers, or cut the bottom off a drinks bottle for a plastic one that will work equally well.

Step 2: Decorate around the box or bucket with painted spiders and torn up tissue paper attached with glue.

Step 3: Create spooky messages, or add children's name tags for a personalised Halloween feast. You could also use pretty letter transfers from Fred Aldous.

Step 4: Use spare scraps of tissue paper to line the inside of the pot, or make a stylish trim around the top of the bucket.

Step 5: Fill with sweets and chocolates for everyone to enjoy.
