What you'll need
* 110cm by 150cm hessian
* Matching thread
* Fabric glue 5m of 5cm-wide cotton tape
* 3 sheets of coloured felt
* Offcuts of fabric
* Dried beans
Step 1) Turn and press a 1.5cm double hem along each edge of the hessian. Stitch in place.
Step 2) Using tailor's chalk, measure and mark 10 30cm squares in the classic hopscotch layout in the centre of the mat. Glue tape along these lines, folding it over to turn corners. Stitch in place to secure the edges.
Step 3) Print the numbers 1 to 10 at 10cm tall from a PC or draw them. Cut out paper templates, pin to the felt and cut out. Glue the numbers inside the squares and stitch to secure the edges.
Step 4) For a beanbag, cut an offcut of fabric 15cm by 10cm. Fold in half, right sides facing and sew along three sides taking a 1.5cm seam. Turn through, fill with beans and slip stitch closed.
