HIPs are supplied and paid for by the seller. The cost of producing the pack will range from £350 to £550 plus VAT depending on the location of the property and the provider. This fee will include the cost of obtaining the required searches, as well as Land Registry documents and the Energy Performance Certificate.

Be aware that some estate agents can charge up to 50% more for a HIP than some online providers, so it's worth getting a few quotes before finally commissioning the report.
