Aside from the food and drinks, you musn't forget your other buffet essentials - such as serveware!
If you don't want to use your best china, and aren't a fan of paper or plastic plates, consider buying crockery, glasses and cutlery in bargain-boxed sets (most supermarkets and department stores stock them). They look better than disposable options but are inexpensive to replace.
Ensure you have all the glasses you need - from champagne flutes to tumblers. Disposable options are good, or you can hire glasses from some off-licences or wine shops.
Finally, you can't call in the New Year without party poppers and hooters – they’re essential for the countdown to midnight, whether you’re aged five or 50! So fill up a bowl with crackers, horns and hats, to avoid the pre-midnight scramble.
