Six ways with feature walls - Striped bedroom

Make your bed the centre of attention by decorating the wall with horizontal bands of colour.

1. Start by painting the wall in a flat, subtle shade, then divide the area into equal bands, using low-tack masking tape and a spirit level to mark out the stripes.

2. Choose two tones of the same colour and mix in metallic paint for a show-stopping look. 

3. Add matching bedside tables and lamps then pile the bed with pretty cushions and a soft throw for a hotel-chic feel.
