Make co-ordinating circular place mats to match your coasters - you just need a little more piping cord.
1) Cut the cord into 5 x 2m strips, cutting each end at a 45° angle. Pour PVA glue into a saucer, then dab one end of each strip into the glue and curl it back round on itself a little, pinching it tight. Wrap with sticky tape and leave to dry.
2) Cover the cardboard with a plastic bag. Remove the sticky tape from the end of the piping and attach the piping to the middle of the cardboard with a pin. Use the paintbrush to add glue to the inside of the cord, coiling it around itself as you go. Keep gluing until you run out of cord. Leave to dry.
3) Paint the coasters (you can mix white and blue together for different shades of blue). Coat them with a mix of 50:50 glue and water to make them splash resistant.
