Fab hotels for all the family

Stuck on where to take the family next year? Our Hotel reviews cover some gorgeous resorts that will be genuinely pleased to welcome you... and your kids.

Hotel reviews often focus on facilities. But if you've got younger holidaymakers in tow you'll probably be more interested in how friendly the welcome is for kids than whether there are hairdryers in the rooms. Well, don't worry. We've uncovered some real family-friendly hotels in Malta, Turkey and Morocco... just for you.

The mythic island of Malta is an enchanting place, with cobbled streets, ancient architecture and magnificent beaches. Numerous resorts dot the coastline, each with their own personalities and vibrancy. For something that’s family-friendly try out Hotel Mellieha Bay, with its own private sandy beach and PADI diving centre. The kids will be kept well occupied at the Kidszone with clubs for 3-12 year olds, a couple of paddling pools and an array of water sports. So go on read a book or take a dive or just snatch a kip... and then reconvene together for family cabaret acts in the evening.

Turkey holidays are great if you fancy really spoiling the family. Check out Marmaris on Turkey’s Turquoise Coastline. There are dozens of resorts around Marmaris, but a particularly entertaining one is the five-star Hotel Club Turban. A candy-pink vision with luxury oozing out of its doors, this hotel has a pristine private beach and numerous pools, both indoors and out. It's entirely family friendly, with an international entertainment team, quizzes, games and cabaret and a kids' club too.

But, it’s not just the kids who should have all the attention. Sometimes it’s good to get away and do what you want to do too. Marrakech is currently one of the hottest destinations around, and this Moroccan city has plenty to draw you in. Set against the astounding High Atlas Mountains, the city is full of drama – from the jugglers and snake charmers who line the streets, to row upon row of open-air food stalls and the most majestic of architecture. However, finding hotels in Marrakech that will suit the family can be a bit of a trial. Hotel Tikida Garden is one of the few that fits the bill. Its kids' club, playground and gigantic pool provide all you could need to keep them occupied. Older children will be fascinated by the hustle and bustle of this enigmatic city and the Hotel Tikida Garden provides a comfortable welcoming oasis for all of you.

Fill the whole family with anticipation and book early– it’s great to have something to look forward together, and the threat of missed ice-creams around the pool can be a helpful alternative to the naughty step, right up until the day you return.
