Grow Your Own Bra-skets and Plant-pants!
Brief preview from our first day at the Hampton Court Flower Show
Always a fan of the weird and wonderful, we couldn't believe our eyes yesterday when we saw a washing line of colourful underwear stuffed with plants at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show. But sure enough, we were in the company of the new ‘Hanging Bra-sket' and the ‘Plant Pant'.
As part of its drive to encourage Britain's gardeners to garden more sustainably, the RHS added some cheeky fun to their Grow Your Own campaign this year - planting herbs, flowers, vegetables and fruit in everything from a basque to a pair of Yfronts! With donations from M&S and expertise from Cooks Garden Centre, they hope to push even more people to enjoy the benefits of home-grown produce this year.
This quirky exhibition just goes to show that however much space you have in your garden, or whatever gardening knowledge you have, all you need is a bit of imagination ... just expect a few strange looks from the neighbours!
