How crafty are you?
Follow M&S's lead and transform old furniture with leftover fabric
We love a stylish craft project at Housetohome, especially if it can save you money!
To celebrate the launch of M&S and Oxfam's soft-furnishing exchange scheme - where people can earn money to spend in M&S stores by donating old fabric to Oxfam - style guru Danielle Proud has created this folk-inspired sofa.
If you’re handy with a sewing machine, you too can brighten up an old chair or sofa with scraps of leftover fabric to get a designer look for less.
As with Danielle's design, you can mix and match several different styles and colours of fabric but try to keep plain areas in the scheme to balance the look.
If you’re a total beginner, why not read our guide to sewing and then try a simple craft idea to practise your new skills.
