There's nothing shady about this Arlington Giant Chrome Floor Lamp, it's an absolute steal!

Gorgeous contemporary lighting at affordable prices was the perfect antidote to a rainy day when we popped in to see a preview of the Homebase Autumn/Winter collection this week.

Muted mid-century table lamps, romantic floor lamps and vintage-style shades were among the key trends competing for our attention.

The Arlington Giant Chrome Floor Lamp (right) in particular caught our eye. This nod to the classic Anglepoise is designed to make a statement and coming in at under £80, it ticks the great-value-for-money box, too.

The Barnaby Cluster Light from the 'Pure' collection is another steal at £69.99, but with more than 400 lights in the new collection, Homebase promise to cater for all tastes and trends this autumn.

We were also pleased to see perennial high street favourite Habitat represented. From this autumn, the brand will be selling a selected range of their most popular items in Homebase stores.

The new collection will be available in stores and online from the end of September.
