The Olympics might be over, but to make up for the absence of Mo, Tom and Jessica on our TV screens, it seems Britains have developed another national obsession - baking.

Since the new series of The Great British Bake Off began, our office has never seen so many homemade cakes and biscuits. And it seems we aren't alone. Marks & Spencer have reported record sales of bakeware over the past four weeks, with sales of cake stands rising by a huge 243% since last year. Phew!
