The panelling in the bathroom has a lye finish, which bleaches the wood and stops it yellowing. It was then washed with white soap which makes it even paler and protects it. The roll top bath was a salvage yard find and the vintage sink came from a previous house. Mirrors on simple painted shelves bounce light around the room and shutters and plain scrubbed floorboards add to the country charm.
