Best places to live in the UK - our top 30
Moving to Brighton
Colourful, laid-back and with a kooky bohemian air, the Victorian seaside city of Brighton has seduced many an unsuspecting tourist into packing up their belongings and moving in.
A survey by O2 found that Brighton's residents rated themselves as the happiest in the UK - and it's not hard to see why the 'city by the sea' is a great place to live.
It has a vibrant social scene with bars, pubs and clubs catering to its party-loving residents but its cafes, beaches and parks make it a nice place for families too. The compact layout of the town means that it's easy to get around without a car and London is under an hour away by train.
