Kitchen flooring - our pick of the best
Solid wood flooring
The price of solid timber flooring can vary greatly, and it's advisable to buy it from a specialist. Generally, the wider the board, the more expensive it is. If you have a lacquered floor, an extra coat of sealer is recommended, while oiled wood should be re-treated every six months. With regular maintenance, solid wood floors can last a lifetime. Keep the floor as dry as possible and only use a damp mop and specialist cleaning solutions. You can fit it if you're a competent DIY-er but it's best left to the professionals.
